The Technology

Valinor Intelligence is an intelligence-as-a-service company combining proprietary OSINT technology with a distributed community of more than 300 verified analysts and subject-matter experts. Its model sits between conventional OSINT SaaS tools and traditional intelligence consultancies. Rather than providing customers with yet another SaaS tool that requires an internal team of analysts to produce intelligence and prove ROI, Valinor combines automated collection with specialist intelligence analysts to deliver on demand, completed intelligence products, monitoring and bespoke datasets. Valinor has proven traction in the market having signed a range of clients across the Public/NatSec sector and the private sector.

The Operational OSINT Challenge

There is more publicly available information relevant to national security than any organisation can continuously analyse itself. Commercial imagery, social media, data leaks, vessel and aircraft data, corporate records, local reporting and specialist sources can all contribute to a robust intelligence picture, but collecting information is not the same as understanding it. Software-only solutions leave customers requiring analysts to interpret the output, while maintaining every specialist skill internally is expensive and difficult to scale when a crisis suddenly creates demand for expertise in a particular country, language or subject. Valinor's model is designed around that capacity problem: providing surge specialist analytical capability when and where it is required with exactly the right tools and the right subject matter experts.

Why It Matters

The proliferation of commercially available data has changed the economics of intelligence. Governments and NatSec departments now recognise the value of adopting an "OSINT First" policy. Information that once required state-controlled collection assets can increasingly be obtained from open and commercial sources, shifting part of the competitive advantage towards organisations capable of validating, combining and interpreting it quickly. That creates applications across defence, national security, critical infrastructure, geopolitical risk and commercial intelligence. Valinor enters Meridian with an established commercial base rather than a purely prospective market case. Its reported closed-won business of over thirty deals and a qualified sales pipeline worth over £7.00 million provide evidence of customers already paying for the model and a foundation from which defence-specific revenue can be expanded.
